The voice, front and centre

Vocal Recording & Production

Lead and backing vocal recording with signal chains built around your voice, plus comping, tuning, harmonies, and production to turn takes into a finished vocal.

The vocal is the part listeners connect with, so it deserves its own attention. We build a signal chain around your voice and the song, choosing the microphone, preamp, and compression that flatter your tone and sit right in the track. The booth and live room are treated so you hear yourself clearly and can perform without fighting the room.

Recording is only half of vocal production. We comp the best moments across takes, tune where the song calls for it, time-align stacks, and build harmonies and doubles so the final vocal feels intentional and polished. Whether you want a raw, upfront lead or a wall of produced stacks, we shape the vocal to the record.

This service suits lead vocalists, rappers, topliners, and backing singers across every genre. We work fast and keep the energy up so you stay in the performance, and we deliver a comped, edited, and produced vocal ready to drop into the mix.

    Track and coach

We capture multiple passes, coaching phrasing, pitch, and energy as we go, keeping the session moving so you stay in the performance.

    Comp and stack

We build the best lead from your takes, then record doubles, harmonies, and ad libs to fill out the arrangement.

We tune, time-align, de-ess, and clean the vocal to taste, then deliver a produced vocal ready for the mix.

FAQ

Vocal Recording FAQs

Will tuning make my vocal sound robotic?+

Only if you want that effect. We tune to the style of the song. For most records that means transparent correction you cannot hear, keeping the character of your performance. For genres that use hard tuning as an effect we can push it as far as the track needs.

Can you record rap and fast vocal styles?+

Yes. We record rap, fast flows, and dense vocal styles regularly, comping and stacking to keep every word clear and punchy in the mix.

Do you build harmonies if I only have a lead idea?+

We do. We can arrange and record doubles, harmonies, and ad libs around your lead, or write harmony parts with you in the session if you are not sure what you want.

How long does a vocal session take?+

A single lead vocal with comping is usually two to four hours. Full vocal production with stacks and harmonies across several songs is best booked as a half or full day. We advise on timing when you book.
